I hope that patients, clients and friends will be able to use this place to track where I am and what I am doing since selling my optometry practice in Billericay in May 1998 then leaving in December 2009. I would like to thank all the people I came to know in Billericay over the 21 years I spent in practice there and hope that I will see some of you in the future.
I am currently working two days a week over the whole of Essex arranging extra services from the NHS for patients at their optometrists. For example having your cataract assessed or your glaucoma checked without going to the hospital. Also if you have a problem with your eye being able to go straight to a local optometrist at no cost to you instead of your GP.
Two more days a week I am working for a friend in Chelmsford – the name is Goldsmith Webb Opticians, 19 Market Road – 01245 260555 generally this is on a Monday.
For all those children and young adults with learning difficulties I am running a specialist clinic there as well, once a month on a Wednesday afternoon. I have a great dispensing optician there called Chantell who is fully trained in vision therapy and sports vision. In fact we already have her under our care an aspiring Olympic team GB clay pigeon shooter. More information on childrens learning can be found at www.babo.co.uk
Some of you will have spotted that leaves me three free days a week. In those I will be competing with my horses in horse driving trials, looking after our other livestock, growing lots of vedge and just possibly relaxing more.
Lyn
